Tiny TV: Hack Week Project

Philo's Hack Week offers a dedicated week for employees to indulge in their creative endeavors. During this time, we have the freedom to work on individual projects or collaborate with colleagues on exciting hack week projects. The focus is on enhancing our product or building something enjoyable. Leveraging this opportunity, I embarked on a thrilling venture and succeeded in crafting the world's tiniest TV, which ingeniously hosts all of Philo's 60+ channels.

How it Started

Tiny TV Classics are real-working TVs that showcase the most famous scenes and quotes from top shows and movies, such as "Back to the Future." Each Tiny TV comes with a functional remote! I brought this adorable gadget to the office and jokingly asked one of the engineers to put Philo’s content in it instead. As a result, we decided to take it apart to explore the possibility. However, after we took it apart, we realized there wasn’t any room for customization.

Introducing… TINY TV

I found this TinyTV® DIY Kit instead, it’s a 3D printed TV that you can assemble and load your own videos and movies.

I loaded 60+ channels in

“coded” some stuff on Arduino to get the channels to load in alphabetical order

And just like that.. Sweet Victory!

All of that for one social post
